Transformation and Impacts of Feminisms.

Body Politics and Subjectivation in Second and Third Wave Feminism

The current feminist situation presents a highly diversified and contested field. Positions, topics and political demands of feminism are much more heterogeneous and contradictory then in the beginning of the second feminist movement in the early 1970s. In this research project, I aim at clarifying the different positions and strands by reconstructing the body politics of the second feminist movement. My focus will be on the significance of autonomy and liberation and how these have changed over the past decades. The empirical data consists of focus groups, interviews and documents, which will allow looking at changes with respect to public discourses, body and sexuality and organisational structures.
